Art & Design

The ingredients of a work of art:
1. There must be a clear preoccupation with death.
2. Sensuality. It is a lustful relationship to things that exist.
3. Tension. Either conflict or curbed desire.
4. Irony, this is a modern ingredient.
5. Wit and play… for the human element.
6. The ephemeral and chance… also for the human element.
7. Hope. 10% just enough to make the tragic concept more endurable.

Definition of art

Individual power, genius, talent, sincere, urgent, search for freedom, emotion, reflective, observe, describe and challenge the (perceived) reality.

Context: Question time & place, reality, stands on its own, aesthetics (beautiful?), a-political, a-moral, implicit, not explicit (don’t explain a joke), suggestive, provocative (but not for the sake of it);

Genius: Talent, (beyond) craftsmanship, inspired, create something from nothing, original, inexplicable, different (but not for the sake of it), inquisitive, beyond reason and believes, mysterious, transforming, “out-of-itself/from-within” (non-subsidised).
